Hello, My name is Mrs. Jewell Garner. I am the owner/director of Jewell’s Gems Academy. I am the proud mother of four wonderful children and the grandmother of two darling little girls. I have been an advocate for young children for many years. I worked with the Parent, Teacher Association as well as the Vanderbilt University (Fast Track) program through Metro Nashville Public Schools. I have been a classroom teacher and a director. Through these experiences, I realized that the early childhood years are foundational to a child’s future. In order to be more knowledgeable about young children, I returned to school and received my degree in Early Childhood Development from Nashville State College. 

With 25 years of experience working with preschool and school-age children, I believe that school readiness can be greatly enhanced during the early childhood years, by presenting suitable activities at the appropriate time in a child’s development. Children must be engaged in interactive experiences that \will be both enriching and real. My ideology is based on the current understanding of the emotional and social development of the young child. I look forward to helping your child grow and achieve their fullest potential.
